“Then out of them shall proceed thanksgiving, And the voice of those who make merry;
I will multiply them and they shall not diminish; I will glorify them and they shall not be small.”
(Jeremiah 30:19)
As we believe God and look forward unto Him in this season, we must equally trust Him for multiplication. Multiplication is what we are all about. As a matter of fact, we can hardly have growth without multiplication, because every time someone or something appears, it essentially means there is an addition; and the more additions we have, multiplication results. The truth is that God has always wanted us to multiply, right from the time of creation. We are all mindful of His mandate for humanity to “be fruitful and multiply” (Gen. 1:28; Gen. 9:7; Gen. 22:17–18; Heb. 6:14).
Perhaps it is good for us to know that it is in fruitfulness and multiplication that God will be glorified (John 15:8). Therefore, not only does God make opportunities available to us that pave the way for fruitfulness and multiplication in our lives, He also delights in doing so (Psa. 35:27). For this reason, we should be conscious of the need (or the divine expectation) for us to be fruitful and multiply and should do everything in our capacity to make it happen. This includes praying for it earnestly, sowing seeds consciously, and watering the seeds we sow, towards our multiplication.
In our anchor verse, we read the promise of God concerning Israel, declaring what He intended to do in their midst: He will make them to be full of thanksgiving towards Him, with hearts of rejoicing and merriment (Jer. 30:19). This was the revelation of the new things God was poised to do for them and among them. The Almighty God is equally saying the same thing to us in Salvation Theatre at this time. We are in a season when God is preparing us for the great things He is itching to do among us! As a matter of fact, we are the ones that are slowing Him down, because He cannot do it without preparing us; otherwise, it may be counterproductive. We can therefore quicken the work of God in our midst by yielding to His instructions and corrections.
In line with our anchor scripture, God wants to multiply us because He does not want us to diminish; and He will glorify us because He does not want us to be small! To this effect, everything that has been causing reduction and limitation in our midst at any level, from this moment, is being terminated by the power of God. They will never raise their heads again in Jesus name! In Zech.1:21, the scripture talks about the “evil horns” which were limiting the prosperity of Judah – just as God sent His angels to destroy those horns, so that Judah could prosper again, so is He destroying every evil horn in our lives and in our midst, this season, in Jesus name! His divine power is also paving the way for the resources that are needed for our multiplication to flow into our lives, at all levels, by His grace.
